The role of Sustainability Business Specialist will act as an advisor to AWS leadership on sustainability data center transparency and ESG regulatory compliance. The role will help to design and build mechanisms that enable a scalable and collaborative strategy looking across voluntary and mandatory reporting requirements. There is room to create impact for our internal and external customers and stakeholders in this role, and we are looking for candidates with a proven track record of delivering results in complex areas which required cross-functional partnership and influence.

Key job responsibilities

Ensure compliance with sustainability requirements of existing and new cloud public procurement policies and contract frameworks, working collaboratively with Public Policy, Sales, Legal and Infrastructure teams.

Partner with Public Policy, Legal and Infrastructure to build and maintain comprehensive visibility of existing, emerging and voluntary ESG reporting requirements

Create and execute initiatives cross-functional initiatives that look around corners for external stakeholders and meet their needs across environmental and social topics as they pertain to data center operations

Support the AWS Global Sustainability relationship with the AWS Analyst Relations and Public Relations teams, engaging in briefings, commissioned studies and assessments on behalf of AWS Sustainability

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, environmental or related field

5+ years of program or project management experience

5+ years of experience in sustainability, ESG or supply chain procurement

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience working with sustainability-related regulations, legislation, public procurement policies and contract frameworks

Proven ability to engage with senior leadership, suppliers and customers
