Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join the team. You will lead work focused on product experiences that help members discover what to watch or play next, and features that help members get more out of their Netflix subscription.
In partnership with cross-functional teams, you will set the vision and conceive of ideas that delight members, convert those ideas into well-scoped projects, prioritize smartly among competing efforts, and lead the team to execute at a high level.
Member Experiences Team
The Member Experiences team is accountable for making the core Netflix experience better every day for over 278 million members. Our work spans all platforms (TV/living room, mobile, tablet, and web), and includes experiences and ranking/recommendations strategy across discovery/browse (shows, movies, live programming, and games), player, identity/profiles, and new surfaces.
Location
This role is based in our Los Gatos office (preferred) in a hybrid model, but we are open to remote candidates on the West Coast. Travel will be required if remote based.
What we offer
As a PM at Netflix, you will:
Make a
meaningful contribution.
Our key product managers - including this position - work with multiple teams but do not have direct reports. We’re looking for experienced product leaders who are strategic and also like rolling up their sleeves.
Take on big
responsibility.
Netflix offers PMs autonomy and substantial scope.
Be expected to
learn
every day and enjoy being curious.
You will be creating experiences that may not exist yet. You will work with stunning colleagues who value collaboration and from whom you can learn.
Who will be successful in this role?
To be successful in this position, you will partner with world-class teams across design, engineering, research, and data science, flexing both your analytical acumen and ability to use your intuition to empathize with customer problems. You will frequently use experimentation as a way to validate your hypotheses.
The following attributes are highly valued on the PM team:
An ability to synthesize the complex into the simple and persuasive, and tell compelling stories with data.
Excellent data-informed judgment.
Good balance between being collaborative and open to alternative views vs. being decisive and clearly communicating product vision/direction for the team.
Comfort advocating for a path forward among ambiguous options.
An eagerness to seek feedback and improve.
Familiarity with and enthusiasm for entertainment products.
Familiarity working with partner platforms and content ecosystems is a plus.
Skills
Experience building consumer products (6+ years) with a proven record of prioritizing and launching experiences valued by consumers.
Proven ability to map algorithmic solutions to product problems.
Demonstrated leadership working effectively with designers, data scientists, engineers, researchers, and colleagues across content, communications, and marketing.
Experience with A/B testing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to present technical content to non-technical audiences.
Very high attention to detail, with an ability to connect the smallest experience elements to the big picture goals at the company and team level.
Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $240,000-$725,000.
Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits.
