Responsibilities
The Valley Health System

Job Description:
Performs venipunctures and other patient specimen collections. Has thorough knowledge of testing andcollection requirements. Trains and serves as a resource for phlebotomists and lab assistants. Ensurescompetency of phlebotomists and lab assistants and consults with appropriate individuals to resolve problemsand issues.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Completion of a phlebotomy program required.
Experience:
2 year phlebotomy experience. Lead or supervisor experience preferred
Technical Skills:
Phlebotomy, specimen processing, customer service
License/Certification:
Phlebotomy certification required upon hire (Laboratory Assistant or Point of Careanalyst license may be substituted for certification). Licensed Practical Nurse,License Advanced EMT and Licensed Paramedic are also accepted. If nationalcertification then Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care Analyst licensure with theState of Nevada within 6 months of hire.
Other:
Basic computer knowledge required, Adequate leadership skills addressingscheduling, counseling, training, and promoting Service Excellence.
