Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Represent the Center in designated markets assigned by the Director of Sales and attend conferences, tradeshows, etc. to increase presence and bookings.
Host sales calls and presentations within Cleveland, Northeast Ohio, and locations assigned by the Director of Sales.
Determine and enhance opportunities within designated events and markets that have previously produced minimal opportunities for the Center to increase building profile.
Achieve individual goals and contribute to overall Sales Team requirements and associated revenues.
Proactively seek new clients through appropriate solicitation of assigned markets.
Consult with prospective clients through appropriate mediums to build a relationship throughout the sales process while creating a positive experience and increasing repeat sales.
Research pricing and availability options that meet the financial booking guidelines for the Center while meeting the client needs and communicate all options effectively to the client.
Maintain Center pricing guidelines, rules and regulations, booking policies, and applicable Center partner/contractor practices to ensure competitiveness through sales process.
Effectively communicate with clients and manage pre-event correspondence/meetings until the account transitions to the assigned member of the Events Team.
Frequently collaborate with Building Business Partners (food and beverage and audio visual) and ASM Global Internal Teams (administration, operations, events, and accounting) to ensure optimal results.
Maintains documentation in property management system, including but not limited to proposals, quotes, correspondence, and contracts.
Knowledgeable in all administrative and operational procedures of the Center
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in the hospitality or business management or related field is preferred.
Minimum 5 years previous experience in Convention Centers, Hotel sales, hospitality, marketing or related field. Sales experience, preferably in hospitality sales or relevant industry.
Experience working in multiple markets
Familiarity with developing sales principles and techniques.
Skills and Abilities
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to foster strong relationships with clients/customers by understanding their expectations and emphasizing high qualities.
Proven ability to relate well with colleagues at every level.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding the Company, employees, events, clients and all related matters regarding such parties.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively handle multi projects simultaneously to completion
Demonstrated ability to perform work with a high level of accuracy, thoroughness and effectiveness
Must be able to work independently and as a part of team; explores new ideas, encourages creativity, and adapts well to change
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel & presentation software
Other Qualifications
Irregular hours as well as land and/or air travel may be required.
