Job Description
Come join our fabulous rehab team as a PPS ) Prospective Pay System Coordinator. This position is located in Fairfax at our Level 1 Trauma hospital. This position provides the opportunity to be cross trained and work as a Rehab Admissions Liaison!
The Prospective Pay System (PPS) Coordinator ensures that all Inpatient Rehabilitation facility patient assessment instrument documentation is complete on all patients admitted to and discharged from rehabilitation beds while meeting required timeframes per Inpatient Rehabilitation PPS rules. Leads, plans, develops, implements, and evaluates performance improvement and regulatory compliance to support program strategic initiatives and operational priorities.

Job Responsibilities:
Collects data from IDX Lastword and medical records to complete identification information, admission information, payer information, medical information and discharge information within required timeframes.Collaborates with physicians or other team members to identify correct ICD-9-CM codes for co-morbid conditions and record on Inpatient Rehabilitation facility patient assessment instruments within four days.Monitors records for complications and records as both co-morbid conditions and complications on Inpatient Rehabilitation facility patient assessment instrument by day five after discharge.Maintains time-sensitive records to ensure all data is completed, encoded, and transmitted within required timeframes; Reviews codes as provided by Health Information Management for capture of documented conditions.Identifies all patients admitted to the rehabilitation beds and identifies the assessment period and completion date for the IRF-PAI daily tracking of admissions and discharge to rehabilitation beds; Flags charts to communicate to treatment staff that date IRF-PAI must be completed according to Medicare designated timeframes.Identifies patients who meet discharge criteria per Prospective Pay System (PPS) rules and facilitates completion of discharge scores within five days of discharge or transfer out of rehabilitation bed.
Requirements:
Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start;
CPR upon hire
Licensure - Licensed as a Physical Therapy, Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology or Registered Nurse in Virginia
Experience - Two years of inpatient Rehab/PPS experience
Education - Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Nursing or Science
