JOB DESCRIPTIONJob SummaryThe Molina Healthcare Internship Program shares an objective to create a steppingstone for students and alumni who aim to be professionals and future leaders in the healthcare business profession. We aim to develop talent by providing students and alumni with experiential learning, formal training, and opportunities to interact with healthcare business professionals who will act as intern managers along the way.Senior Whole Health by Molina's Quality Improvement function supports new and existing healthcare quality improvement initiatives and education programs working alongside the Senior Whole Health Quality team. The position will be supported by a dedicated mentor on the Quality team who will provide this position with guidance on tools, resources, and project goals. This position will participate in a wide variety of Quality projects and meetings to gain a better understanding of healthcare quality initiatives, data collection, reporting and monitoring for key performance measurement activities; and federal/state QI compliance requirements.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESThe Quality Summer Intern contributes to Quality Interventions and Quality Improvement Compliance.Supports key quality strategies, which may include provider, member and/or community interventions such as non-clinical outreach calls for screening reminders and confirmation of home kit delivery, outreach to providers for record collection, as well as support for community health events, which may require some travel onsite.Participates in key departmental Quality staff meetings and smaller Quality improvement workgroup meetings to learn about Quality Improvement strategy. Topics for these meetings include Stars, HEDIS, contract requirements, interdepartmental collaboration, member/provider outreach, etc. This position may also assist with documenting minutes for these meetings.Other tasks, duties, projects, and programs as assigned.PREFERRED EXPERIENCEDemonstrated solid writing experience.Operational knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.Must possess clear and professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Strong work ethic, self-motivated and ability to develop relationships.Good time management, organizational and interpersonal skills required.Computer experience including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and experience with Internet research.Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills.Ability to handle confidential information. Ability to maintain confidentiality and to comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).REQUIRED EDUCATION:Candidate must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate program as a current freshman or sophomore with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and pursuing a Bachelor's degree with preference in the following areas:

Healthcare, Population Health, Public Health .Candidate must possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.Pay Range: $20.29 - $20.75/HOURLY*Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
