Job Description

ORC is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Right of Way Title Agent to work on projects throughout Northeast Texas including Winfield, TX. The selected candidate must reside within a 50-mile radius of Winnfield, TX and will have the flexibility to work remotely from their home office but must be able to report to the Shreveport, LA office once a month.ORC offers an amazing work environment surrounded by a vibrant team that is not only there to challenge and support you, but also will inspire you every day! At ORC, diversity matters, voices are heard, and leadership shows they care.What you will be doing:As a Title Agent, you will be responsible for retrieving process of 50-year title and will need to clearly define the chain of title, identify any issues, out sales, and encumberments by searching real estate records, both online and in county courthouses. The selected candidate will pull deeds, mortgages, contracts, easements, tax cards, plats, and other instruments required to complete a title search.Agent will compile information into a client provided Title Report while ensuring accuracy of title information.We are looking for someone who:Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.Has a responsible and organized approach to work.Is a problem solver with attention to detail.Has a sense of urgency.Is comfortable using a variety of different technologies in order to research and complete title work.

Here are the minimum requirements:Minimum of (3) three years of experience pulling title and title historyMust have experience:Analyzing titles and title reports;Verifying property ownerships, mortgages, liens, and/or judgments against properties; Determining if restrictions, such as delinquent taxes, will affect titles and limit property use;Identifying key information about parcels and communicating such effectively to property owners

Proficient reading deeds, legal descriptions, plats, easements, searching parcel data, and producing a chain of titleAbility to read and understand real estate terminologyAbility to ascertain types of title evidence required to obtain descriptions of properties and names involvedMust be proficient with MS Office Suite specifically Excel and Word, Dropbox or equivalentMust have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systemsValid Driver's License

Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high amounts of computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. This is a largely sedentary role; however, the employee occasionally is required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff.
