Job Details:
Main Campus pharmacists dispense pharmaceutical products for patients on the Outpatient side of the hospital. The pharmacist is responsible for reviewing prescriptions, verifying correct dose, and final verification and dispensing of the medication. The pharmacist is thoroughly knowledgeable of pediatric specific dosing and works to ensure that medications are dispensed accurately and efficiently.
The pharmacist provides drug information and utilizes drug references appropriate to age. They serve as a resource for nurses and physicians with drug related questions, and actively seek to provide the most up-to-date drug information to their customers. They consult with providers or their agents regarding appropriateness of treatment. The pharmacist counsels the patient and is available to answer any questions that the patient may have regarding their medications.
The pharmacist oversees the daily operations within the department to ensure the safe and appropriate processing and delivery of medications to the patients. The pharmacist oversees the pharmacy technicians, and serves as the verification for products prepared by the technicians. They ensure that prescriptions are filled accurately and in a timely manner with respect to workflow.The pharmacist adheres to State Board of Pharmacy laws and that of other regulatory agenciesDepartment Specific Job Details:
