This position can be based out of our
Washington D.C., Fairfax, VA. Richmond, VA or Baltimore, MD
office.
This position is responsible for acting as the third-party Construction Manager representing Tank Owners for water storage tank rehabilitation projects, new water tank construction, and tank coatings projects. Responsible for supervising and mentoring Construction Inspectors and NACE-certified Inspectors. The individual will also oversee our Remote Operation Vehicle (ROV) services for tank condition inspection work. Must have experience and knowledge of welding or weld inspection. Project work is in Maryland, DC, PA, and Virginia.
The Work You’ll Do
Manage construction contractors performing tank rehabilitation projects as an agent of the Tank Owner.
Manage/coordinate submittals and RFI reviews
Review potential change orders and write justification letters
Lead monthly progress meetings and write meeting minutes
Review, analyze, and comment on construction schedules
Review and analyze contractor pay applications
Report directly to the Tank Owner
Communicate effectively with Designers, Contractors, and Tank Owners.Supervise, mentor, and oversee
Construction inspectors/NACE-certified Inspectors
Assist with proposal preparation for tank work (assistance is the only requirement – proposals are prepared by others).
Oversee the performance of tank condition inspections for steel and concrete tanks using ROV and NDT methods.
High School Degree or Associate Degree
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
Minimum of 10 years experience
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
Possess AMPP/NACE Level II (with ability to obtain AMPP/NACE III) or AMPP/NACE III certification.
NDT certifications preferred but not required. GF will provide training and certifications.
10-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health course preferred.
Good communication skills.
Must possess a driver’s license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
