Pratt Street, 5th Floor Baltimore, MD 21202 The Application Coordinator for the Cadence Team is directly responsible for the methods by which patients access outpatient care, as well as Telemedicine visits, at Johns Hopkins Medicine. They collaborate directly with Revenue Cycle operational leadership, partnering to devise and implement innovative solutions, as well as maintaining existing infrastructure that supports thousands of end-users involved in the scheduling and registration of patients. Demonstrates proficiency in understanding computer systems, applications and interfaces. Demonstrates proficiency in data gathering techniques and the ability to design and communicate systems solutions to user issues and problems of medium complexity. Demonstrates an intermediate understanding of the relevant clinical and/or business operation functions. May require specialized knowledge in a specific application/module/computer system. Creates detailed work-related specifications, system design documentation, procedures, process flows, data flows and project and change management plans. Communicates effectively with users and colleagues. Conducts regular day-to-day communication with JHM teams and vendor's installation team. Demonstrates proficient degree of analytical skills. Supports multiple concurrent work efforts, educates and coaches other team members, and works with minimal supervision in support of team initiatives. Works as a member of a specific application team as well as with other application and technical teams. Responsible for developing and documenting the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with applications. Job Responsibilities: The responsibilities of an Application Coordinator II encompass identical responsibilities as an Application Coordinator I, but with a greater degree of complexity. An Application Coordinator Analyst II also: Essential Job Functions/Performance Standards Needed to Achieve Goals Measures (Quality, Quantity, Time) Analysis and Design: Employs proficient analytical skills to define systems requirements and objectives for system application and interfaces. Communicates to project team members. Identifies data element needs for clinical and/or business operations. Prepares written documentation of clinical and/or business operation work flows. Drafts project scope plans, project plans, and issue logs; monitors and reports status of assigned project tasks plans to Lead project staff and/or manager. Functions as a liaison to the system users and stakeholders to translate clinical and/or business requirements into technical requirements, data flows and process flows. Educates team members on clinical and/or business operations requirements, objectives and the relevant system applications or modules. Sets standards for naming and numbering conventions and security classifications. Assists in developing risk mitigation strategies. Provides support in developing reports, validating data, and developing control mechanisms. Analyze new functionality in releases to determine how it should be used. Application Configuration/Development: Works with the appropriate subject matter experts and other project team members in design, build, and validation sessions. Provides technical expertise in the supported application. Works with application stakeholders to improve the effective utilization of the application. Performs system administration and configuration. Creates and documents appropriate unit test plans. Understands how workflow decisions translate to application configurations. Builds system dictionaries and performs test system set up. Populates databases during the initial system build with assistance from vendor. Works closely with the technical support on issues of install choices, master file and category list set up, synonyms and preference lists, etc. Testing and Implementation Skills: Assist with full system testing and go-live planning. Develop with the Enterprise team test scenarios/conditions. Assist with creation and execution of system and integration test plans. Assist in the preparation of the application live plan. Participate in training and work with end users. Aiding trainers during user training. System Support: Support application during and after live process. Prioritize and implement requested changes to the system. Coordinates software updates and changes with users. Reviews new vendor software releases and updates to help determine which features will be utilized. Maintains rules for how each new version is released. Analyzes new functionality in new releases to determine whether or how it should be used. Coordinates software updates and changes. Reviews and test each new release. Communication/Project Management: Identifies key dependencies for assigned tasks and works to manage these to meet milestones. Educates and coaches other team members and works with minimal supervision in support of team members on tasks of medium complexity. Reports project issues and staff performance issues to Principal / Supervisor. Frequently provides status reports to project managers. Responds to vendor's questions. Required Job Qualifications: Education: Baccalaureate degree, education or health related field with educational courses. Professional certification(s) and/or related experience beyond minimum training experience qualifications may substitute for formal education requirement on a two years experience-for-one year education basis. Certifications : Required to complete and pass certification in assigned EPIC application module(s) within 120 days of employment in this role. Experience: Two years operational experience in a clinical or healthcare business operations setting or two years experience in Information Technology. General understanding of the work flows in clinical or healthcare business operations. Preferred Job Qualifications: Experience with implementing clinical and/or healthcare business information systems in a large-scale and complex healthcare organization. Epic certification in the module(s) being represented. Experience in Epic installations. Knowledge of the current healthcare environment preferred. Experience in developing business and/or clinical workflows related to the assigned application module. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA's): Ability to handle analysis, design, system configuration and testing tasks at a low to medium level of complexity. Ability to incorporate policies, procedures, and specific clinical practice and/or business processing needs into information systems training Excellent customer service skills Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality teamwork and education Strong organizational skills in managing multiple priorities Uses critical thinking skills regarding use of the clinical/business operations software applications Detailed understanding of clinical/business operations workflows and system configuration gained by participating in validation sessions with project team members and assisting in system design. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Project desirable. Demonstrated expertise in technical design techniques for related software applications. Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles as they relate to assigned tasks. Salary Range: Minimum 32.92 per visit - Maximum 57.62 per visit. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
