The eData Practice Support Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of project managers and supporting the firm’s clients in all aspects of the eDiscovery life cycle and process. The Manager works directly on client relationships while also coaching, mentoring, and training the project management team. The Manager also works closely with eData leadership on cross-functional practice group initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of work in the legal industry, including experience as a people manager and team builder, as well as subject-matter expertise in eDiscovery and related technology tools.

Through effective coaching, training, and guidance, you’ll ensure your team understands and follows procedures and guidelines, enabling them to meet performance goals, enhance professional growth, and provide exceptional client service. You’ll lead by example, establish objectives and expectations, delegate tasks and monitor performance, offer constructive feedback, and acknowledge accomplishments.

Key Responsibilities:
Proactively promotes client service throughout department and among teams.
Provides clients with the highest levels of responsiveness and availability and identifies and meets stated and unstated client needs.
Provides clients with expert consultation and advice on eDiscovery issues, technology, and best practices.
Demonstrates platform/software expertise on core eDiscovery tools/applications including Relativity, Brainspace, and Blackout.
Keeps abreast of emerging eDiscovery litigation support technology and processes, finding opportunities to adjust and implement the technology and processes into the eData System where appropriate.
Participates in business development and industry activities such as preparing marketing materials and/or participating in conferences.
Facilitates and completes training sessions for internal and external clients regarding end user functionality within eData tools, including becoming the assigned matter’s point of contact for training for the duration of the matter.
Sets project management team direction and priorities, ensures that work levels are balanced among all staff, resolves internal staff issues in a timely manner, and keeps staff informed of all appropriate information.
Facilitates the development of project management team by providing opportunities and support, offering timely feedback on work product, and regularly coaches, evaluates, and recognizes staff performance and accomplishments.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years of relevant experience preferably in litigation support or eDiscovery with at least two years in a management, supervisory or leadership role.
Results oriented with strong time management, planning and organizational skills to effectively prioritize and balance multiple projects, and lead, manage, and motivate staff to complete projects and assignments.
Superior interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally, including project teams, clients, vendors, and service providers, working across multiple practices, business units and functional teams.
Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to act with a high degree of integrity, discretion, and responsiveness, and superior reasoning skills and sound business judgment.
Technical skills include Microsoft Office Suite, Aspera, Axcelerate, Blackout, Brainspace, Beyond Compare, Casemap, Concordance, Equivo, IPRO, Law, LiveNote/CaseNotebook, HERMES, TimeMap, TrueCrypt, Relativity.
Certified Project Management Professional, Advanced Process Management (Six Sigma Green belt, Black belt), Certified Information Privacy Professional, System Security Certified Practitioner or other industry certification highly desired.

For positions in San Francisco, CA, the salary range for this job posting is: $142,244.00- $227,591.00.
For positions in Los Angeles, CA, the salary range for this job posting is $130,865.00 - $209,383.25.
The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
