The Position:

We are seeking an outpatient physical therapist to join our continually growing therapy services department. We are a department of UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center, a not-for-profit organization. Positions available with the ability to specialize in multiple areas including pediatrics. Up to a $30,000 Signing Bonus!What makes us different?

25+ physical therapists, 5 occupational therapists, 4 speech pathologists.Specialties and services:

Orthopedics, pediatrics, aquatics, oncology, pelvic health, lymphedema, dry needling, LSVT, vestibular rehabilitation, concussion management, and neurological rehabilitation.The Area:

JOB SUMMARYThe following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The employee may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.Responsible for providing therapy services consistent with licensure to clients including evaluation of patient, establishing plan of care, implementing treatment, directing, and educating patient and/or caregiver and documentation of the above.Supervise therapy assistants, technicians, students, and volunteers as applicable.Communicate with other health care providers regarding client care and treatment plans.Provide training and education for hospital staff as requested.Complete patient documentation in a timely manner to meet regulatory and organizational requirements.Attend continuing education programs and present findings to appropriate staff as applicable.Review and complete all insurance authorization requirements for patients in a timely manner.Assist with performance improvement for rehab department and hospital.Understand use and precautions of any treatments and equipment used.Positively contributes to the departmental financial performance/productivity.

Patient Care : Delivers care that is consistent with the team member's discipline in accordance with the specific therapy practice act, guidelines, and code of ethics of the respective organization, i.e., APTA, ASHA, AOTA.Completes patient evaluations and treatments independently while maintaining patient safety.Appropriately seeks guidance and assistance when necessary.Independently establishes/implements treatment goals and plans based on patient input and evaluation and assessment results.Reassesses outcomes and modifies goals and plans to meet changing needs of the patient.Schedules patient activities according to patient individual needs.

Teamwork : Develops and maintains positive relationships with team members and coworkers.Functions as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.Accepts responsibility for actions; seeks, accepts, and acts positively upon feedback from others.Shares responsibility for effective internal communications through a team approach.Organizes individual patient caseload in collaboration with team workload demands.Performs daily administrative/office activities to ensure efficient flow of care within team.

Technical Competency : Demonstrates technical competencies and job knowledge as it pertains to rehabilitative care.Acquires and maintains knowledge of clinical therapy practice by identifying continuing education needs and participating in educational opportunities.Provides orientation and guidance to new rehabilitation staff in work area as requested.

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEducation:

Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited PT program.Experience:
