The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy services to individuals and their families in a team relationship with other health care providers in a setting that is designated by the department.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of an Occupational Therapist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
Performs all functions associated with the evaluation patients for all age group within the department's responsibility.
Completes all documentation required within the regarded timeline according to department.
Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.) This process includes communicating with the patient, parent and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy school.
For cost center 6367 only: One to two years of clinical experience, within the past five years in an inpatient facility or home health agency.
For cost center 6368 only: One to two years of pediatric occupational therapy experience or strong pediatric affiliation.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
Occupational Therapist License.
Working Conditions:
Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
