UX Researcher

We are seeking a UX Researcher to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for understanding user behavior and translating insights into actionable recommendations. As a UX Researcher, you will work closely with designers, product managers, and developers to ensure our products meet the needs and expectations of our users.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Partner closely with product owners, project managers, business analysts, and UX designers to plan, conduct, and communicate user research that guides meaningful and usable product design decisions.
Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative, attitudinal and behavioral, and generative and evaluative studies from beginning to end
Create exemplary research artifacts, presentations and reference materials to support and socialize research findings
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide research consultation that aligns to the needs of the business
Influence and inspire leadership and stakeholders through compelling narratives
Be a driving force in the development of UX maturity and education across the company
Mentor junior team members on research best practices, as needed
Identify and communicate ways in which user feedback can drive business outcomes
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOURequired:
5+ years of experience conducting and leading user research efforts in a product organization
Expert knowledge of Agile principles and working within a Sprint cadence
Must demonstrate advanced emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication, and critical thinking skills
Expertise in visual, written, and oral story telling with the ability to produce useful artifacts and reference materials to support design initiatives
Experience conducting user research and deriving insights via qualitative, quantitative, generative, evaluative studies, behavioral, attitudinal methodologies
Advanced experience and knowledge of user research tools and platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Maze, UserTesting.com, User Zoom)
Experience selecting the appropriate data collection methods
Ability to communicate research results and data and justify methods and approaches-both visually and verbally
Experience successfully leading workshops within internal team and with cross-functional stakeholders
Experience driving UX maturity or supporting user research education within your previous organization
Demonstrated history of leading multiple projects simultaneously and balancing projects with fluid priorities
Experience as a mentor or advisor for less experienced UX professionals
Concrete evidence of your impact on the organization and outcomes based on your work (Case Studies, Portfolio)
Ability to work 100% on-site in Pontiac, Michigan
Preferred:
Degree in Human Factors, Social Sciences, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, or related degree or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, 508 Compliance)
Working knowledge of mortgage or financial industry
Experience serving as a UX research advocate, leader, and/or educator within previous organizations
