Position Summary:

The Associate Vice President of Human Resources will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee all human resources (HR) functions to meet current and future needs of the organization. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking and excellent communication skills. This is a dynamic position that can significantly impact the success and growth of HHIT because it manages HHIT’s most invested in resource – its people! This position is an in-person, in-office role in South Bend, Indiana.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy, including recruitment, training and compensation plans.

Manage an effective and efficient recruitment and selection process.

Create and manage an appropriately staffed HR team to ensure the team is effectively supporting HHIT’s mission, vision and goals.

Ensure all HR policies and procedures comply with local, state, and federal labor laws.

Stay up to date and implement appropriate programs and policies regarding industry trends and employment legislation.

Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of talent.

Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.

Administer compensation and benefits plans to ensure they are competitive and aligned with the company goals.

Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.

Work closely with the executive team to forecast and plan benefits to ensure they are competitive and align with the company’s goals.

Manage in office, remote and combined organization culture.

Use metrics and analytics to assess effectiveness of HR operations and policies.

Report to management using metrics, graphs and other written tools to effectively and efficiently manage strategy, employee relations, performance management, compliance, compensation and benefits.

Complete other job-related assignments and special projects as directed.

This position is located in South Bend, Indiana and requires candidates to live within a commuting distance of the office.

Education & Experience:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field. Master’s degree such as an MBA or master’s in human resources management is a plus.

Maintenance of certifications such as SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

5-10 years of experience in an executive HR position leading teams and managing complex HR operations ideally in a technology company or with a heavy M&A strategy of 500+ employees.

Proven experience in strategic planning and aligning HR strategies with business goals.

Experience in various HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and talent management.

Strong leadership skills to guide the HR team and influence company culture.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with employees at all levels and presenting to the executive team.

Ability to create and analyze HR metrics and data to inform decision-making.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
