Position Overview
The Development Associate will work closely with the Donor Engagement Coordinator and Development Director, who will be responsible for processing donations, entering data, maintaining donor information, assisting with fundraising efforts, engaging in donor communication, and supporting the development team in various fundraising activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Efficiently and accurately process, audit, and code donations from all platforms including digital, direct mail, in-kind, and over-the-counter.
Maintain physical and digital files, including proper gift documentation, for grants and donations exceeding $1,000.
Process Special Events payments and donations in DonorPerfect.
Maintain documentation of physical copies for grants, legacy legal paperwork, and other relevant documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
Reconcile all donations processed with the finance department and match departmental daily deposit amounts.
Document in-kind donations, ensuring timely logging and entry of all contributed items into our CRM.
Assist with donor stewardship including preparation and distribution of acknowledgement letters, thank you cards, and other donor appreciation communication
Produce donor information and share reports and queries with the Development Director and Database Administrator for projects, appeals, etc.
Assist with preparation and implementation of fundraising efforts including and not limited to printed, digital, and event materials.
Review obituaries, update records, and produce In Memorial/Honor Of acknowledgment cards.
Work with a third party to manage car donations, enter donation information into the Donor Perfect, acknowledge donations, and provide tax forms as appropriate.
Process matching gift forms for donors whose employers match employee gifts.
Perform database maintenance tasks including but not limited to: segmenting, deduping, and updating constituents
Update our records to reflect accurate and current mailing preferences for any returned or bounced communications from both hard and soft copy mailouts.
Provide general administrative support to team members as necessary and promote internal stewardship
Help with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and coordinating appointments.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received:
Work under the general direction of and receive general supervision from the Development Director. Work independently to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.

Qualifications and Skills:
An Associate's degree is preferred, typically in fields such as communications, marketing, business administration, or nonprofit management. Or two years of relevant experience.
A minimum of one year of demonstrated success in an administrative role with database experience and an ability to manage financial and quantitative data
Experience working with a nonprofit donor database preferred
Experience working with a nonprofit organization preferred
Ability to manage multiple tasks and duties simultaneously and meet relevant deadlines
Understanding of basic fundraising principles and practices, including donor cultivation, stewardship, and recognition techniques.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and ability to quickly learn new software programs
Exceptional customer/donor service skills
High ethical standards, discretion, and confidentiality in working with donor information
Working Conditions

Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping
Physical Demands
