We’re excited to be adding a

Senior Product Manager, Software Platform

to our growing Connected Products Group software product team! This is an engaging and challenging opportunity that plays a critical role in shaping the integration of Yale, August, and Master Lock smart security products. We are looking for an execution-oriented, customer-obsessed product leader who wants to live on the edge of technologies that bring software and hardware together, within the connected home.

This position will report directly to the Group Product Manager for Software. We are seeking a product leader to direct a broad cross-functional effort to define and deliver software features and products that bring our security ecosystem to life.

POSITION LOCATION:

Work Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with all work performed in North Olmsted, OH, Oak Creek, WI, Deerfield, IL, or San Francisco, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adding new features and improvements to the Yale Access and Master Lock system, which brings together various product categories (smart locks, smart padlocks) together in software-driven experience built using iOS and Android mobile, backend data and firmware software technologies.

Leading innovation and driving end-to-end the launch of new products and experiences, with little direction, in collaboration with hardware category managers.

Serving as a software product owner on large scrum teams comprised of product designers, firmware, backend, mobile and quality assurance engineers.

Collaborating with engineering team members to influence system architecture and design.

Working closely with the teams bringing new products, new categories and new ecosystem features to market.

Collaborating with category managers, designers, and engineering partners to refine and develop platform features.

Working in an Agile environment, continuously reviewing business needs, refining priorities, outlining milestones and deliverables.

Partnering with stakeholders and internal customers across the organization to inform the product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization.

Developing, owning, and executing product plans for assigned initiatives.

Collaboratively defining and refining desirable outcomes and team OKRs for new features and improvements, including UX specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Prioritizing and maintaining the sprint backlog for assigned products.

Guiding the product functional discovery and design process based on an intimate knowledge of the users and technology, in close collaboration with product designers.

Developing and maintaining appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post-launch to evaluate future investment.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in software product management.

1+ years of experience with connected products.

BA/BS degree preferred, in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.

Expert in using Jira for issue management and report generation.

Strong technical software literacy.

Strong working experience with Agile methodologies.

Experience with solutions involving mobile technologies, connected devices (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), cloud services and device firmware.

Passion for building products that people love.

Belief in using data to understand user needs and assess product health to help drive improvements.

Strong working experience with both predominant mobile platforms (iOS and Android), cloud services and connected devices (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) firmware.

Understanding of whole home solutions is a plus.

Understanding the commercial and multi-family home verticals is a plus.

Ability to grasp complex technology quickly.

Ability to deal with ambiguity and be flexible.

Staying calm under pressure.

Additional Information

Salary Range:

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $125,000-$160,000. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
