With this passion at the forefront of our business, Michaels teammates can be proud to be a part of the extraordinary, every day.ResponsibilitiesOversee the project construction from start to finish.Assist the PM/APM in project planning and identification of key resources as needed to ensure the successful execution and completion of the construction of all projects under their guidance.Ensure that construction activities move according to the predetermined schedule.Assist the project team in coordinating the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which includes the architects, consultants, subcontractors and Local, State and Housing Authority officials.Attend and participate in on-site meetings.Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, construction quality and safety standards.Conduct periodic inspection of construction jobsites as needed.Ensure project documents are complete.Manage the daily details of the project including coordination of office and field activities directly related to the project during construction.Study and understand the Contract documents (plans and specifications) prior to and throughout the Construction process.Investigate conditions at the jobsite prior to bid to understand and evaluate site accessibility, surface and underground conditions and any condition that would affect construction methods and costs.Update the project construction schedule and update as necessary with the project Superintendent as the job progresses. The schedule BASELINE should never change.Resolve, or assist the Project Superintendent in resolving, RFI’s, design and detail problems with owners, design agents, suppliers and subcontractors.Attend pre-construction and job meetings.Manage and monitor the submittal for subcontractors and vendors. Ensure materials meet all specification and plan requirements and communicate clearly to the subcontractor and/or vendor when the submittal requires further clarification or information.QualificationsRequired Experience:1-2 years of construction management experienceWorking knowledge in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook, MS Project (preferred).Required Education/Training:Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent education and experienceRequired Skills and Abilities:Excellent customer service skills.Ability to work in a team effectively.Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.Professional appearance and demeanor.Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.Effective time management.Working Conditions:Some travel required.Working on active construction sites, including office trailer and in buildings under construction.Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.Salary Range Information:The range displayed on each job posting reflects the targeted base salary for the position.
