Responsibilities

What You Will Do

The SaaS Continuity Engineering team is responsible for the design and build of the systems and services that enables Oracle to deliver industry-leading availability and performance objectives for Oracle’s SaaS services. The team architects and develops high-availability and service continuity solutions across the entire stack – infrastructure, database, platform, and application services – and all the dependent components. The engineering innovations enable SaaS services to be available to customers without any disruptions even during large-scale incidents. We are building the next-gen service continuity solutions in a fast-pace and innovative environment and looking for a hands-on engineering leader who can lead design and development of solutions and services to operate Oracle Fusion Middleware and Applications at scale with maximum availability and performance.

We are looking for a seasoned engineering leader to grow and lead a team that is building software and solutions for improving availability and resiliency for SaaS services. You will be providing leadership, vision and strategy needed for the delivery of these services.

We are looking for someone who has experience:

Leading engineering teams that have delivered successful products and services.

Launching new cloud solutions and establishing operational excellence.

Setting the technical direction.

Building high performing geographically distributed engineering teams.

Coaching, mentoring and developing best talent.

Establishing and stimulating software development standards and processes along with best practices for the entire org

Developing strategic plans to accomplish technical as well as business objectives with leadership chain,team and customers

Required Qualifications

MS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields

Strong experience in cloud infrastructure services including compute, storage, load balancer and networking services

Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in SaaS or PaaS engineering

Strong development experience in Java, C++, or similar OO languages

Experience with containers (Dockers, Kubernetes) and other cloud native components

Proficient in scripting (Python, Shell)

12+ years experience in a software engineering environment

8+ years in leading engineering for middleware and platform services

Extensive experience with any of the following middleware products and services:

Oracle Fusion Middleware products (Weblogic, OHS, etc.)

AWS Platform and Infrastructure services

Google Platform and Infrastructure services

MS Azure Platform and Infrastructure services

Strong experience in networking technologies

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience in a collaborative, agile development environment

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (Examples: AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle)

Extensive experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware products

Experience in leading teams that have delivered successful products

Understanding of distributed computing and cloud technologies

US: Hiring Range: from $120,300 to $291,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
