Job SummaryResponsible for providing strategic leadership and executive oversight to all aspects of the Software Development and Engineering department's projects and activities. Develops and implements strategies and works with project personal to develop project standards and performance metrics. Works with Supervisors and Managers to ensure all applications meet project specifications and requirements. Provides leadership and direction for team which may include multiple functional areas. Develops and implements strategy for functional area(s). May have responsibility for developing and managing budget. Drive collaboration and consensus between multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Job Description

This is a great opportunity to work with internal partners and external customers to help provide innovative technology solutions globally! The Senior Manager is in charge of running an open-source project for embedded systems such as customer premises equipment. Lead multiple diversely located teams and build new teams where needed. Architect end of end solutions taking into consideration the the diverse requirements from various stakeholders.

Job Functions:

Creates and drives strategies in alignment with the Company's overall vision and business goals.Works with project personnel to define standards and frameworks with regards to coding, programming and the general development of applications for multiple platforms.Leads the Software Development and Engineering team in the development of new software and applications and leads the continued support for existing applications and applications in development. Oversees implementation initiatives, software updates and the roll-out of new software releases.Monitors the project lifecycle from intake through delivery. Ensures the entire solution design is complete and consistent from the start and seeks to remove as much re-work as possible.Works with Supervisors and Managers to ensure all deliverables adhere to deadlines, specifications and budgets. Develops and implements performance metrics. Reviews and reports on project progress to leadership team.Prepares and manages budget(s) and financial targets.Continuously researches new techniques with respect to coding technology and coding practices. Works with the Engineering team to implement new techniques that benefit the goals of the organization.Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.Lead overall delivery of RDK Core Middleware and Reference PlatformsCoordinate and collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders including other internal teams, other operators, chip vendors, manufacturers, and system integrators to effectively elicit collaboration and drive strategic convergenceBuild and drive consensus across teams and stakeholders by abstracting key problems and proposing solution options.Skillfully and assertively navigate diverse third-party team priorities and strategically leverage them to achieve common objectivesRun monthly governance sessions with Business and Engineering leadership of various groups to callout key achievements and learnings pointing out risks and dependenciesRegular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessaryOther duties and responsibilities as assignedRequired Skills:

15+ Years of industry experienceC / C++ / Core Java / J2EEShell scripting in LinuxRDK (Reference Design Kit) for VideoExperience managing teams and deliverablesEducation / Experience Requirements:

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experienceTypically requires 10+ years of industry experience with Software DevelopmentOpen to remote-based employees.
