The Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Architect (AWS) is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role focuses on optimizing cloud resources to meet performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency requirements while ensuring alignment with security and compliance standards.Essential Functions:AWS Infrastructure Architecture & Design:
Architect, Design and implement AWS-based cloud infrastructure solutions that meet business needs for scalability, performance, and reliability.Develop and maintain detailed architecture diagrams, documentation, and best practices for AWS infrastructure.Design, develop, publish and maintain reference architectures
Optimization and Management:
Optimize AWS cloud resources (compute, storage, networking) for cost-effectiveness and performance.Monitor AWS environments to ensure operational efficiency and resolve performance issues.
Implementation and Configuration:
Oversee the deployment and configuration of AWS services, including EC2 instances, RDS databases, S3 storage, VPCs, and load balancers.Utilize AWS CloudFormation and other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
Security and Compliance:
Establish and enforce AWS security best practices, including network security, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection.Ensure that AWS infrastructure adheres to organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration and Support:
Collaborate with DevOps, development, and operations teams to integrate AWS infrastructure with applications and services.Provide technical guidance and support for AWS-related issues and projects.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with AWS updates, new services, and industry trends to continuously improve infrastructure practices.Evaluate and recommend new AWS tools and technologies to enhance infrastructure performance and capabilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.Minimum of 7+ years of experience in designing and managing AWS cloud infrastructure, with a strong track record in AWS environments.In-depth knowledge of AWS services and infrastructure components, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation.Proficiency in AWS infrastructure-as-code tools and automation practices.Strong knowledge of AWS security best practices and compliance frameworks.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and resolving complex AWS infrastructure issues.Ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and manage high-impact projects.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively interacting with stakeholders and team members.Preferred to have:AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar certifications.Familiarity with other cloud providers (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and related tools is beneficial.Salary range: $100,000 to $140,000 a yearAdditional Information
