Overview

Provides support and technical direction in regards to the Windows desktops and thin clients throughout the institution by assisting in image and platform development as well as software deployment and patching. Provides 2ndtier technical support to other IS Teams. Experience in Ivanti LANDesk, Powershell and other endpoint management and deployment suites preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the proper management of the windows desktop environment.

Assists user support with their ability to add, change and delete users and reset passwords.

Facilitates the build process for desktop and laptop images.

Configures various flavors for “restricted/locked-down” builds for the windows clients.

Reviews and controls software versioning and compatibility.

Applies security updates, operating system patches, and major upgrades to the Windows Desktop platforms.

Assists in enforcing Windows standards with computer names, user names, login scripts and group policies, security configurations.

Develops alternatives and cost estimates new systems. Negotiates with application vendor over configuration requirements.

Assists application support and user support in desktop configuration and interface definition and testing.

Develops operational procedures, depending on application.

Monitors and manages Windows desktop images with software tools. Develops patching and update process through LanDesk

Develops upgrade/phase-out proposals for older equipment.

Responsible for software deployment across the enterprise

Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with a minimum of one year of experience in PC network administration, or the equivalent in education and experience required.
