Cloud Network Engineer

This includes configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all transit gateways, route tables, and direct connects. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, analyze network traffic, and provide capacity planning solutions. Extensive involvement with AWS routing and transit gateway architecture.
Experience with AWS and GCP in multi-cloud deployments.
Manage Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
Diagram complex network architecture for technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to train team on cloud-related tasks to streamline and operationalize cloud requirements.
Operational involvement with BGP routing.
Deployment, integration, and management of network appliances in cloud infrastructure, firewalls, and load balancers.
Troubleshooting of network connectivity and performance problems and subsequent remediation.
Scheduled and emergency network maintenance (software/firmware upgrades, etc.).
Network design/architecture of cloud networks using best practices.
Ability to lead projects through all phases from initial planning through completion.
Development and documentation of project plans, detailing required tasks.
Documentation of project plans, network diagrams (physical and logical), and test plans.
Execution of project plan with minimal impact to production networks/services.
Deployment and use of network monitoring/management solutions.
Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and/or participating in professional organizations.
Reporting network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information.
Capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers.
Do you have what it takes:Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience (in enterprise networking).
Minimum 2 years’ experience working with cloud networking environments.
Hands-on experience with AWS transit gateways and Direct Connects.
Required – Associate Level Cloud or Network Certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Cisco CCNA.
Preferred – Professional Level Cloud or Network Certifications, such as AWS Advanced Networking-Specialty.
Efficient in the following technologies:
VPN Technologies.
Routing protocols.
L2 switching.
Redundancy protocols.
TCP/IP as well as TCP/IP services and ports.
Networking concepts/components.
Network monitoring protocols.
Familiarity with Palo Alto, GCP, and AWS suite of services.
Soft skills and leadership skills.
Ability to document/write technical instructions including standard operating procedures (SOPs).
