The Department of Urban Design and Planning has an outstanding opportunity for a MIPM Student and Academic Services Director (0.75 FTE) to join their team.
The Masters in Infrastructure Planning and Management program is an innovative and interdisciplinary graduate online self-sustaining degree offered by the Department of Urban Design and Planning in partnership with the UW Continuum College.
POSITION COMPLEXITIES
The Director of the MIPM program serves as the academic and administrative lead for the program as well as the chief student recruiter and program spokesperson. This position is responsible for overseeing student advising and outreach, planning and leading programmatic services for students, facilitating the admissions and enrollment processes, supervising student and academic services staff, and fostering collaboration and partnerships to support program and student success. Success will be measured by the educational quality of the program, student satisfaction with the curriculum and instruction as per course evaluation scores, enrollment numbers, graduation rates, attrition numbers, program profitability and annual applicant survey feedback.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Admissions, Enrollment Management & Outreach (30%)
Advising and Student & Academic Services (25%)
Program Oversight and Management (25%)
Curriculum and Instructional Management (20%)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in a relevant field, such as planning, public affairs, or business and 4 years of experience in the following: student affairs/services and/or academic advising or related activity.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with UW administrative policies and procedures
Knowledge of UW Graduate School and Registrar policies
Familiarity with UW Student Database and UW My Grad
Supervisory experience
Experience managing online graduate degree programs and proven ability to identify and successfully respond to emergent problems and opportunities associated with this form of instruction.
