The University is seeking an individual capable of excellent teaching, committed to significant involvement with students both within and outside of the classroom, and interested in participating in the academic unit's service learning and/or graduate research programs.The College of Health Sciences has a strong commitment to quality teaching, and passion for building Christian community with students, a tradition of high impact academic practices, and experience in using our skills for collaborative and interdisciplinary work.Responsibilities begin July 1, 2023 and will include teaching a wide variety of courses in Kinesiology and Athletic Training.Job Status:

PLNU pays its faculty using a payscale based on experience and academic rank. Faculty salaries using this scale for a 3-semester appointment range from $77,367 to $126,573. The actual salary will be based on the experience, rank, and appointment term of the candidate selected to fill this position.Responsibilities:Teach graduate courses in the athletic training program and undergraduate kinesiology courses in their area of specialization.Instruct athletic training students and incorporate current athletic training professional knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to their teaching areas.Successful candidate will work strategically with diverse colleagues, students, parents and community members.Engage in personal scholarship and scholarship with graduate students (where possible).Advise students academically, spiritually, and socially.Participate in departmental activities and governance.Serve on university faculty committees/working groups and perform other normal faculty duties.Contribute in preparing students for their post graduate career and finding who they are called to be.Collaborate with the athletic training program director to meet and maintain compliance with all the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accreditation standards and assist in the completion of necessary annual and self-study accreditation reports for CAATE.Contribute to the recruitment, retention, and preparation of athletic training students.Contribute service at the school, college and university levels and within their professional pathways other responsibilities as assigned.Support activities and programs arranged for the recruitment, selection, and retention of students for the Athletic Training Program.Qualifications:Education: Ph.D./Ed.D/DAT in athletic training or a related field.Experience: Evidence of a commitment to excellence in (undergraduate/graduate) teaching. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching students from diverse backgrounds is preferred. Hold national certification and be in good standing with the Board of Certification (BOC).Philosophical: Thorough commitment to the concept of Christian liberal arts education and a desire to work in a Christian university. Supportive of the religious and educational goals of the university and its sponsoring denomination.Personal: Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.
