deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Junior Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

deciBel Research is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support design and development activities for both modeling and simulation and tactical software on a combat system fielding and sustainment effort.

Day to day activities include:

Supporting new capability designs within the Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MSandA) System-of-Systems (SoS) representative of the fielded combat system.Evaluate performance of advanced algorithms for inclusion in the software baselineContribute to the development of analysis visualization toolsPerform updates to threat configuration softwareMake updates and fixes to both the MSandA SoS and the tactical combat system software baseline to support sustainment efforts

Education Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related STEM field.

Experience Requirements:

2 years with Bachelor's Degree; 0 years with Master's degree.Familiarity with modeling and simulation (MandS) design and developmentFamiliarity with tactical software design and developmentExperience with programming in C++ and JavaExperience with scripting in Matlab and/or PythonFamiliarity with scrum-based Agile software development processes and toolsFamiliarity with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes and toolsAbility to work full time in a classified lab environment

Special Skills Desired:

Master's degree in a STEM fieldPrevious DoD program experienceModel Based System Engineering experienceMission planning experienceCommand and Control (C2) and/or Weapons Control Systems experience
