The Product Owner is primarily responsible for planning and prioritizing product development sprints and the product feature backlog. The Product Owner will lead product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities while mitigating roadblocks to achieve release goals.Skills & Competencies:A bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, or experience.At least three years of relevant work experience.Relevant work experience should center around product management or equivalent education, training, or experience.Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (PO certifications).Exceptional communication skills with the ability to encourage diverse opinions and actively listen.Highly skilled in using Atlassian tools: JIRA, Confluence, and related add-ins.Essential Job Functions:Collaborates with business stakeholders and customers to build a product backlog of features from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment.Works with cross-functional teams, including analytics, design/user experience, engineering and user enablement.Acts as the voice of the end user and communicates business needs to guide all stages of software development, including user story development, sprint planning, and prioritization of the product backlog.Identifies and prioritizes features, creates epics and user stories to be delivered to meet customer's needs.Regularly communicates with business and technical stakeholders on backlogs/execution: develops, documents and implements user stories successfully.Participates in sprint planning to determine the team's goals for the upcoming sprint and shares with the stakeholders for managing expectations.Participates in all agile/scrum ceremonies such as stand-ups, backlog refinements, and team retrospectives.Works with the development SMEs to review acceptance criteria and definitions of done for stories.Leads backlog refinement meeting to ensure stories capture accurate user acceptance criteria and are testable (Follow SMART approach).Leads the sprint review meeting to present the output and business values from the sprint to key stakeholders and shares what the next sprint will consist of.Analyzes feedback from sprint reviews and user acceptance testing, and other data such as end user feedback from using the feature in production and operational metrics, to identify and understand product needs.Assists the QA team on the development of feature tests, test cases, and regression tests.Sets expectations with business stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.Keeps abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.Takes an active role in removing impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.Other duties as assigned by supervisor or leadership team.Key Metrics & ResponsibilitiesWell-maintained backlog with clear priorities and user stories.Quality of user stories in terms of clarity, acceptance criteria, and completeness.Communicates the feature development progress, publishes sprint goals and releases to stakeholders ensuring transparency and alignment between development team and business objectives.Monitors feature adoption of new features and assesses impact to the business and technology stakeholders.Collects feedback from stakeholders to gauge satisfaction.Time it takes to move a user story from ideation/backlog to delivery/production.Contributes to a stable/increasing sprint velocity for the development team.Tracks the percentage of sprint goals achieved.Why work for Maymont Homes?Our Mission
