Overview
This opportunity is for a managerial position on our Product Compliance team. This position reports into the Legal/Regulatory department and principally supports AmTrust's property & casualty products written by its retail and program business units. The core lines of business are Businessowners, Commercial Auto, Commercial Property, and General Liability, all of which are ISO based.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values and will steadfastly uphold the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Responsibilities
- Manages a small team of compliance professionals (2-4) for high performance, as measured by meeting agreed-upon deadlines, producing high quality work product, developing staff's competencies and knowledge base, while maintaining staff engagement, among other metrics.
- Manages multiple insurance product filing initiatives of the team. Keeps in touch with product leaders for changes in scope, changes in priority, and provides timely status.
- Depending upon staffing levels, this position may directly manage a line of business. This may include self-filing in SERFF and other responsibilities of the filing process.
- Interfaces with internal stakeholders at varying levels within product team, actuarial, and IT to relay compliance concerns, refine product offering prior to submission and to resolve objections posed by state regulators to proposed enhancements. Throughout these interactions this position acts as beacon for our high standards of compliance.
- Guides strategic discussions with product team on how AmTrust will interface with regulators on a project-by-project basis. Additionally, this position will play a significant role in building relationships with the regulators who review AmTrust's product submissions.
- Works with I/T on product implementation (particularly in regard to ISO changes), when/if Compliance guidance is required. Similarly, provides guidance to Operations, when/if needed, on certain insurance practices.
- Keeps current with market trends pertaining to the line(s) supported.
- Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 5+ years of broad product compliance experience with commercial P&C coverages. With expert level knowledge* in at least one of the following ISO-based coverages: Businessowners, commercial auto, commercial general liability, commercial property, professional liability.
* Knowledge such that you could collaborate with a product leader in drafting changes to forms, rules, or the rating algorithm OR definitively explain nuances of coverage to internal counsel seeking to defend AmTrust's position in a matter related to that coverage
- Demonstrable SERFF and filing assembly experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) products and SharePoint, as well as SERFF. (Proficiency with Smartsheet is a suitable stand-in for Excel.)
- Strong professional communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to effectively communicate with regulators, as well as executive leadership within our organization.
- Must be able to convey the policies, procedures and values of our company and our business group to direct reports.
Preferred:
- Prior management or supervisory responsivities.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience drafting P&C insurance forms and endorsements or exclusions.
- SQL experience.
- P&C product Underwriting background or experience with coverage interpretations in the process of claims adjustment.
