Position OverviewInfinity Systems Engineering is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Engineer (CE) to lead the execution of engineering efforts for the Space Systems and Hardware Integration for Novel Space Experiments (SSHINE) program in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at Kirtland Air Force Base.
The primary responsibilities of this role are ensuring customer technical success, managing engineering execution, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, leading assigned personnel, and advancing Infinitys strategic objectives.
As a key member of the Infinity team, this position will also serve as a primary technical leader for Infinitys continued expansion in the growing Albuquerque aerospace and defense market.This position is suited for mid- to advanced-career candidates and beyond.

Primary ResponsibilitiesProgram Oversight & ExecutionSupport cradle-to-grave mission, space, and ground system development for AFRL customerWork with customer and stakeholders to understand mission scenarios and requirements to drive mission successDevelop and adapt program technical execution plansProvide technical guidance to multi-disciplined engineering team and drive the technical direction of multiple, independent missions to successEnsure discipline and rigor in the execution of multi-disciplined engineering processes while implementing best practices and lessons learned across customer missionsLead and mentor technical engineering teams to execute tasks, meet milestones, and deliver high-quality outcomesPrepare for, attend, and brief during technical execution and milestone meetings such as design reviewsLeadership & Team DevelopmentAssist with the hiring and retention of a skilled workforce capable of meeting the requirements of assigned work activities on varying programsMentor, guide, and lead project technical teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment by setting expectations, monitoring progress, and providing coaching and development opportunitiesConduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to staff, assisting them with navigating through the Infinity Career Progression FrameworkStakeholder ManagementServe as the primary technical point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholdersEnsure clear and continuous communication regarding project status, changes, and risk mitigationProvide inputs to program management team to support schedule development, updates and milestone schedule progressForge positive relationships with customers, partners and employees; meet regularly with customers/stakeholders to formulate and review technical mission execution, task plans, and deliverablesCompliance & Quality AssuranceEnsure compliance with DoD regulations, standards, and security requirementsEnsure compliance with Infinity engineering processesManage quality control of contract deliverables as required per contractEnsure compliance with program schedules, budgets, and US Government requirementsRisk ManagementPerform risk analysis, including identifying and assessing project risksDevelop and execute risk mitigation plans and management of risks on projects. Monitor potential issues and adjust project plans as necessary to avoid program execution disruptionResource ManagementManage GFE resources and schedules to ensure cross-program mission successAllocate resources effectively and track technical performance against established metrics
Minimum QualificationsMinimum of 10+ years of engineering experience preferably within the DoD industryExperience with DoD space missions and programsDemonstrated cradle-to-grave technical leadership of space programsExperience managing/leading engineering and technical personnelStrong engineering and organizational skillsExcellent leadership and team-building abilitiesProblem-solving and critical-thinking capabilitiesProficiency in common engineering and project organization toolsets (e.g., Cameo, Innoslate, Confluence, Jira, etc.)Experience with program risk, issue, and opportunity managementExperience supporting business development initiatives, including developing technical and cost elements for submission to customers
Preferred QualificationsExperience with Air Force and Space Force missions and programsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to conduct root cause analysis to identify failure causes and develop resolutionsExperience with modeling and simulation frameworksFamiliarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and toolsExcellent inter-personal and communication skills, ability to interact with a cross functional team and act as customer interface for technical aspects
Professional engineering certification equivalent to Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Level 3 Systems Engineering Certification, or demonstration of continued education, preferred
Education/Experience
