Worldwide Operations Sustainability (WWOS) is hiring a principal program manager to lead our network engagement strategy to meet our commitment to be net zero emissions by 2040 (the Climate Pledge). This role will partner directly with network execution teams within Amazon ops to identify carbon efficiency opportunities from an integrated Amazon Fulfillment Network. This role must be able to evaluate key inputs that drive our network outputs and identify sustainability solutions that support our broader goals of delivering excellent customer experience and reduced cost to serve.
The role requires a leader who understands supply chain optimization and can understand network planning and execution drivers to develop results. The role must be able to communicate clearly with senior leaders in verbal and written communications and use data to gain commitment to take action on sustainability initiatives. In this role, effectively influencing without authority is essential to success. Finally, the role must be able to earn trust across a broad range of stakeholders across Amazon worldwide operations.
Ideally, the candidate will have a passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship. While not required, experience working in sustainability or a basic understanding of sustainability principles is preferred. This role is responsible for essential stakeholder engagement and planning cycle execution that will chart the course for WW Operations to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040, 10 years ahead of the Paris Climate Agreement. Key job responsibilities
Analyze business inputs that drive desired outcomes for cost, speed, and sustainability across the end-to-end Amazon Fulfillment Network.
Partner directly with teams across the Amazon Fulfillment Network to deliver optimal sustainability results.
Maintain critical planning cycles and inputs that drive the annual and 3-year plan of record for sustainability in WW Operations and maintain the working backwards plan of record to achieve net zero emissions in ops by 2040.

This role is a deeply analytical leader who is passionate about influencing through a cross-functional group of stakeholders while being willing to roll up their sleeves to deliver results. A day in this role will include analyzing network and carbon data to identify opportunities to accelerate progress on decarbonization, attending doc reviews on key initiatives in the network, meeting with operations leaders to influence their approach to sustainability through data insights, and meeting with team members to track progress to goals and identify new opportunities to drive deeper decarbonization.

Our mission is to break down technological, economic, and organizational barriers to deliver sustainability solutions for WW Operations. Worldwide Operations Sustainability (WWOS) maintains the overarching strategy and interim targets to achieve the Climate Pledge by 2040, and topics that extend beyond decarbonization. WWOS centrally coordinates across operations in all regions, particularly on topics that transcend business unit boundaries. WWOS aims to accelerate outcomes for key decisions, identify the right stakeholders to make decisions, and provide central guidance for resource allocation to drive our path for the Climate Pledge.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
7+ years of program or project management experience
7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
Bachelor's degree
Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Preferred Qualifications
Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
