Job Description
Position Summary:
We are looking for a Sr Manager, Product Specialists to provide strong leadership to our Americas team of Technical Sales Specialists (TSS). Your role is vital in meeting CMD growth targets and ensuring smooth regional operations. You will coordinate regional goals, optimize sales processes, collaborate with BUs, develop sales opportunities, and support employee growth. This is a remote role that can be located through the US or Canada.
Commercial Leadership:
Directly manage all Technical Sales Specialists across the AMER region
Attain outstanding growth for the relevant product lines within North America
Provide strategic mentorship and operational support to regional sales managers to enable growth and market share gain for IC, GC, and ICP/MS products.
Establish and control expense budgets for the team, working closely with finance/commercial partners
Implement core business processes and procedures tailored to improve customer delight.
Collaborate with all Thermo Fisher teams to drive process improvement initiatives
Monitor the performance of territories and product mix using critical metrics and take necessary actions to improve or grow.
Optimize resource use in a matrix organization to support commercial growth in the AMER region
Selling Agility:
Apply sales key performance indicators to drive initiatives and support our business partners.
Analyze team territories and prioritize activities to drive maximum results
Coordinate team pipelines to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Teach and describe sales processes for successful strategy execution
Develop standard methodologies in opportunity management within the team
Provide improvement suggestions to minimize off-line reporting tools
Technical:
Mentor the team to develop a deep understanding of competitive landscapes and customer workflows.
Assess and address the team's competitive intelligence needs
Strong Knowledge of GC and/or ICP/MS applications and instruments
Ensure balanced selling across the full product portfolio and identify training gaps
Bring in technical expertise based on team needs
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business based disciplines required, MS degree in Science or Business based disciplines preferred
Commercial business experience; distribution or international experience required
Validated leadership track record in a matrixed environment, with the ability to motivate and lead others
Strong mentoring and development skills
Ability to build and maintain processes and procedures
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Familiarity with commercial sales and marketing tools preferred
Advanced PC skills
Capability to generate and maintain information to provide performance feedback
Experience in planning and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects
