The System Engineering Project Lead is expected to play a collaborative role in the requirement definition and design activities developing complex medical diagnostic equipment. Through their expertise, this individual is responsible for risk management, system requirement definition, system impact assessments, system verification and validation testing strategy, and providing support and services throughout the lifecycle of the product.
Responsibilities
Lead requirement definition and design activities for complex medical diagnostic equipment.
Manage risk, define system requirements, and perform system impact assessments.
Develop and implement system verification and validation testing strategies.
Provide continuous support and services throughout the product lifecycle.
Identify issues with existing code and troubleshoot software and operating system issues in a Windows environment.
Interface and coordinate across various functions within the organization.
Communicate professionally about the product to regulating authorities.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.
Basic competence in programming techniques (e.g., C) and script writing.
Ability to detect and troubleshoot software and operating system issues in a Windows environment.
Experience in instrument/system development and testing.
2-5 years of previous experience in Systems Engineering, which can include internships or academic projects.
Experience with technical writing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in project management as a leader or contributor.
Experience working in a regulated industry.
Ability to communicate professionally with regulating authorities.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity tools, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project.
Previous knowledge of Biomerieux products is a plus.
Familiarity with FDA QSR, specifically design controls, is preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment includes working closely with the testing and software development group. A typical system setup includes a complex medical instrument, a Windows workstation, and various peripherals.
