The Rapid Transit Division is seeking two (2) operators to join their team with various hours and schedules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Operates transit buses to provide public transportation for fixed routes and paratransit service passengers while complying with all traffic laws and other required regulations.Provides passengers with system information when requested and conducts themselves in an appropriate manner while working in a diverse work environment.Performs pre-trip inspection of transit bus prior to beginning shift.Maintains working knowledge of streets, current routes, as well as fare structure.Provides assistance to persons with disabilities while boarding/deboarding the bus.Operates radio and/or mobile display terminal to communicate with the base station or other vehicles.Collects, categorizes, and records fares and sells a variety of passes and coupons.Working knowledge of wheelchair lifts and proper securement of mobility devices.Performs fueling according to procedures and cleans both the interior and exterior of vehicles.ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can safely operate a large passenger transit bus independently on an assigned route (within an established time schedule). Must be able to deal with the public in a pleasant and courteous manner and remain calm in adverse weather conditions.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Three months related experience as a transit bus driver (equivalent combination of education and bus operation experience may be acceptable).Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrakes and passenger endorsement or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
