About Our Program Our Mechanical Engineer Development Program provides training on routine assignments under the guidance of senior engineers. You will develop competence in the role by performing structured work assignments while using existing procedures to solve both routine and standard problems. As part of the development program, you will build strong working relationships across teams and participate in hands-on projects and technical seminars to build your skills and career path in the fast-growing semiconductor industry. Role Responsibilities: Work closely with senior engineers on design, development & improvements to state-of-the-art cathodes, electrodes, pumping, gas delivery systems and chamber's materials for wafer processing reactorsDesign or modify mechanical engineering layouts/schematics/specifications of moderate scopePerform engineering analysis; perform and document engineering testsGenerate related alpha/gamma documentation for product releaseCoordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components/equipment and identify sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve moderately complex technical issuesTroubleshoot a variety of mechanical problems of moderate difficultlyImplement concepts of moderate product issues and mechanical solutionsDesign, develop and the implementation of custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycleMinimum Qualifications: We are seeking candidates currently pursuing a Master's degree from an accredited college or university, with an expected graduation date between December, 2024 and June, 2025.Good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scalePreferred Qualifications: Previous internship or related field experienceDemonstrated leadership experienceAble to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutionsAbility to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of informationExplains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensusFlexible and adaptable mindset who thrives in a results-driven cultureThesis and relevant courseworkPatents and PublicationsApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in the workplace. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
