Weekly Pay$2221.0 Shift Details ShiftDay - 12x3 - 07AM Scheduled Hours36 Job Order Details Start Date12/03/2024 End Date03/01/2025 Duration13 Week(s) Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry I Job Specialty: Geriatric Psychiatry Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights with Every Other Weekend) - 36 hours/week Guaranteed Hours: Information not provided Experience: Minimum of 2 years of inpatient adult psychiatric experience required License: Massachusetts RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, Certification in De-escalation Must-Have: - Proficiency in using automatic medication dispensing systems (Omnicell)- Proficiency in electronic health records documentation, preferably EPIC- Proficiency in the use of psychotropic medications and understanding of their side effects- Competence in the use of IV pumps- Competence in diabetic patient care- Ability to assume the role of charge nurse- Ability to complete admissions and discharges Job Description: - Provide care to geriatric adult patients with diverse types of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnosis patients.- Manage medically acute patients requiring interventions such as IV therapy, CPAP, wound care, and diabetic care.- Maintain a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients.- Work with a patient population that includes geriatric adults.- Use EPIC as the electronic medical record (EMR) charting system.- Participate in floating to different units as required.- Participate in training sessions such as AVADE and lead EKG training.- Stay informed about the rules and regulations pertaining to mental health inpatient care, such as patient rights related to restraint and seclusion, and laws pertaining to guardianship and healthcare proxies. Additional Information: - Training sessions on the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health rules and regulations will be offered on-site.
