Job Title: Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager (A Shift) - Waterloo KPR PlantLocation: Waterloo, IA, USJob ID: R0358022Salary Range: USD $90,000 - $100,000 per yearJob Type: Full-Time, Onsite Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager to oversee all activities of the FSQA department at a large manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring food safety programs, product quality, and specification adherence for all products within the facility. The FSQA Manager will also manage departmental budgets, staff turnover, and safety measures while overseeing special projects.Key Responsibilities:Daily Oversight: Monitor production practices including raw material, receiving requirements, sanitation, finished product quality, and food safety systems.Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all FSQA policies and procedures are followed. Verify and document adherence to government regulations.Food Safety Programs: Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP and SSOP inspection programs.Quality Control: Ensure that finished products meet customer specifications and labeling requirements. Report product issues and audit results to plant and corporate FSQA teams.Customer Interaction: Conduct plant tours, audits, and initial product runs. Respond to quality-related customer complaints.Microbiological Monitoring: Perform bacterial swabs, environmental testing, and shelf-life assessments.Team Development: Select, train, and manage FSQA Supervisors and Technicians. Conduct sanitation training programs.Budget Management: Manage departmental budgets and oversee labor and attendance for the FSQA team.Requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in a food science-related field (preferred).Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a food manufacturing leadership role, with at least 2 years of direct FSQA supervisory experience.Certifications: HACCP certification (preferred).Technical Skills: Strong computer skills required, including the ability to generate spreadsheets and develop templates for use by management. SAP experience is preferred.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to correspond effectively with all organizational levels.Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem identification and resolution abilities. Ability to work independently and interact with various departments within the organization.Travel: 1-3 trips per year required.Note: Sponsorship is not available for this position.
