DuPont is seeking a polymer synthesis Lab Technician to fill a 2nd shift position at our Lab in Dayton, Ohio.
This position supports small scale production of advanced polymers for semiconductor applications and involves working in an operational environment and collaborating with other technicians and R&D scientists.
Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:
Synthesize polymers in 500 mL to 100 L reactors and perform related activities.
Maintain lab inventory of raw materials, coordinating with management and sourcing teams.
Conduct experiments and data collection to support quality investigations.
Record and document observations on polymer synthesis in batch record.
Adhere to lab safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain lab cleanliness and waste disposal waste disposal.
Execute preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
Collaborate effectively with a diverse team of scientists, chemists, and technicians.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field.Minimum of one year experience in pilot-scale polymer synthesis and purification.
Experience handling lab glassware and delicate equipment.
Experience in chemical manufacturing or process operations.
Good computer skills for data collection, processing and reporting.
Heavy lifting (lifting to 55 lbs., moving 400 lbs. using drum carts) following ergonomic guidelines.
Use of PPE, including full face respirator, coverall, lab coat, goggles and safety shoes is required.
Strong commitment to safety, laboratory housekeeping, and ethical behavior.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, quick learner, problem solver, and team player.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
