Responsibilities

Able to set-up and operate manual for CNC lathe, engine lathes, surface grinders or OD-ID grinders with minimal supervisionMust be able to set-up and operate tool room equipment including Jig Bore and Jig Grinding Machines. Honing, lapping, and EDM experience beneficialCan read and follow set-up sheets, operation sheets, blueprints, programs and/or drawingsMeet production deadlines by following manufacturing schedules and proceduresBe able to troubleshoot and offer suggestions on how to resolve machining concernsUses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instrumentsAble to make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds, measures, marks and scribes' dimensions and reference pointsAble to set and use all standard measuring instrumentsAbility to program, edit and modify programs as neededMonitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process or VIPQualifications

Completion of a formal apprenticeship or 2 years' experience in manufacturing environmentMathematical SkillsMechanical SkillsDetail OrientedTime Management SkillsAbility to read and interpret blueprints.Knowledge of technical functionsKnowledge of computer skillsAbility to work well within a team as well as individually.Ability to communicate effectively
