ArchitectureOur client, a leading architecture firm, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Project Designer to join their team. This role involves planning and designing electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering design and be adept at working collaboratively with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform engineering duties in planning and designing electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarms for buildings.

Assist in the various design elements required to complete projects, including developing plans, specifications, and due diligence reports.

Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Collaborate closely with clients, officials, contractors, and other project team members to achieve successful project outcomes.

Correct and update drawings, and assist the project team and other staff members as required.

Support Project Managers in coordinating project designs with other disciplines, including attending project meetings.

Perform specific engineering studies and design analyses, and assist in establishing project budgets, cost estimates, and schedules.

Review shop drawings, record changes, and communicate with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives as needed.

Perform on-site inspections and develop one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and short circuit calculations.

Develop lighting plans, perform photometric calculations, and layout fire alarm devices.

Prepare electrical drawings and specifications, and coordinate design with vendor-supplied equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering.

5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering design, particularly in building projects.

EIT or PE certification preferred.

Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel.

Proficiency with electrical engineering software such as SKM, AGI, and Visual.

Sound knowledge of the project development process, including construction of retail and commercial buildings.

Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and conscientious.
