**Shift:** 12H Nights every other weekend or up to 3 weekends per month if the unit is busy; first to float - could float to sister facility

**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

**Must-Have:**- Full 3 years of recent ICU experience, with experience in either neuro or cardiovascular (CV)- Successful completion of a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, with a maximum of 2 attempts- Participation in a pass/fail Sim Lab on day one of orientation

**Job Description:**- Work in a surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1- Handle cases involving Level 1 trauma, falls, gunshot wounds (GSW), blunt trauma, motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), and other trauma patients- Manage diagnoses such as exploratory laparotomy (ex-lap), craniotomy (crani), specialty neuro-surgery cases, cerebrovascular accident (CVA), status post-TPA, COVID, sepsis, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)- Titrate medications such as Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Precedex, Morphine, Dilaudid, Ketamine, Rocuronium, Levophed, Vasopressin, Cardene, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, Insulin- Act as a charge nurse without patient assignments- Self-scheduling is allowed, but the manager may balance shifts for unit needs- Weekends include 3 shifts in a 4-week schedule; Nightshift weekends are Friday - Saturday; Dayshift are Saturday - Sunday- May have 1 holiday off during the assignment- Expected to float to telemetry with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 or 1:4 as needed- No monitor technicians; RNs required to read their own strips using GE monitors- Dress code: Navy scrubs- Unit/department specific orientation of 1-2 days- Skill validation for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices as needed- Experience with medical ICU, including managing cases like sepsis, COVID, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), flu, ARDS, and vascular surgeries- Experiences in CVICU with managing on and off-pump CABG, valves, post-cath, TAVR, IABP, Impella, ECMO, Tandem Heart, and esophagectomies- Use of respiratory therapy equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP – Dreager, Hamilton, Puritan Bennett 840, V60s BiPAP, Airvo
