Paragon is seeking a Nuclear I&C Systems Engineer to join our team. The Nuclear I&C Systems Engineer will support the development of nuclear power plant control, monitoring, and safety systems.
Responsibilities:Lead instrumentation and control (I&C) projects that will focus on engineering, analysis, and documentation for both operating and new nuclear reactorsLead the interdisciplinary design team for the entire duration of the project and partner with customers to ensure contract requirements are metDevelop the system requirements for the I&C system and map the system architecture to contract requirementsApply an understanding of nuclear power generating stations to the I&C system design. Apply that knowledge to provide guidance to customers as they develop their overall reactor system designsPrepare system level documentation, such as failure modes and effects analysis, reliability calculations, system architecture drawings, etc.Prepare/review design documentation, such as hardware requirements, hardware design specifications, drawings, power and heat calculations, test procedures, etc.Responsible for managing and driving project cost and schedule in conjunction with the Project ManagerQualifications:A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical degree is requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Architect or System Design Lead for large complex system designs with a defined system development lifecycleExperience working on nuclear safety-related I&C system development projects, including equipment qualification, commercial grade dedication, and system implementation and test, is highly desirableExperience working within a nuclear quality program, or other regulated environment, is highly desirableTechnical experience and working knowledge in design, plant systems, and/or technical analysis with small modular reactors, high-temperature gas reactors or research and test reactors is desirableProven ability to create real and positive change, think creatively and respond rapidly to changing priorities and customer needsAbility to handle multiple tasks, projects, competing priorities and tight deadlines simultaneously while maintaining quality and accuracyDemonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and accuracyExperience with MATLAB and Simulink is desirableProficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project)Excellent written and verbal communication skills
