Human Resources Generalist , reporting to the Manager, Human Resources. The position is located in Simsbury, CT.The
Human Resources Generalist
will have both tactical and strategic responsibilities, supporting execution of the business plan, managing training and development, performance and talent management, benefits, and employee relations, and most importantly, being an advocate for employees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Manage client group of union members, individual contributors and front-line managers in a generalist capacity, while educating and advising employees in all areas of human resources that may be requiredAddress employee relations issues for client group including disciplinary issues and/or misconduct investigationsDrive continuous improvement efforts with client group focused on increasing engagement and retention of employeesFacilitate leave of absence program by providing guidance to employees and ensuring alignment with payrollLead university recruiting and relations efforts for the site including the new graduate development program and summer internship programConduct compensation analyses for positions and provide compensation recommendationsComplete termination process with employees including exit interviewsAssist with new hire orientation as neededUtilize and maintain data in Human Resources database to understand improvement opportunities in various HR areas, such as workforce planning and talent managementLead and support special HR projects, staff events and other assigned duties as neededRequirements:Bachelor's degree and 4+ years' experience in Human Resources ManagementStrong knowledge of Federal and State Human Resources laws, regulations and best practicesProficiency in Microsoft 365, with the ability to create detailed and accurate reports and spreadsheets.Creative problem solver, with the ability to effectively work on multiple projectsSelf-motivated with a bias for action but with a willingness to ask for support when neededMust have exceptional oral, written and interactive communication skillsAbility to maintain high standards of confidentialityAbility to project a positive and professional image to internal and external customersExperience with HRMS software applications (Experience with Workday is a plus)Experience in a union manufacturing environment is a plusBilingual in Spanish preferredEnsign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company
