Cloud Consultant

Our client is currently seeking a Finance Cost Optimization Consultant for AWS cloud spend.Hybrid to downtown Chicago.RESPONSIBILITIES:Will develop and implement a cost optimization strategy for cloud spendDeliverables include process to identify and optimize resource utilization and reduce wasteUnderstanding and recommendations with regards to purchasing strategiesProcess to create forecasts and budgets for cloud spend based on current and projected service mix and usage patterPolicies and process around cloud financial governance, including budget alerts, spending limits, approval workflows based on spend thresholds, tagging and cost allocation strategyDevelop an AWS bill audit process and conduct regular reviewsParticipate in cloud and vendor contract discussionsDefine maturity targets for the Finance function with regards to financial transparency, optimization and planning capabilitiesQUALIFICATIONS:Deep knowledge of AWS billing structures, pricing models, and servicesExperience leveraging cloud financial tools like AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, and AWS Billing ConsoleExperience defining and implementing tagging policies and cost allocation mechanismsUnderstanding of financial controls and implementing them cross-functionallyBasic scripting (Python, Bash) for creating custom cost review dashboards and proficiency with reporting tools like PowerBI, Tableau or ExcelPreferred: experience with automation tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)
