Senior Country Risk Limit Management Lead - Director/ C15

The Senior Country Risk Limit Management Lead will help to manage and coordinate the approval and management of all Country Risk Limits that Citi manage across the global network. Through Country Risk Limits, Citi defines risk apatite for the Country. It will manage a group of professionals that will help in the process. It will interact with Regional and Global partners in the execution of the task. Will have to ensure that all limits are within the approved Risk Appetite of Citi.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the approval and management of 5 Country Risk Limits across Citi.
  • Manage the overall limit request, calibration and approval process, which includes having s single and balanced global view on risk appetite for all limits. Manage concentrations as needed.
  • Socialize and get approval of limits with key stakeholders (CCOs, Cluster Heads, etc) and the 2LoD.
  • Monitor the usage of limits and escalate breaches as needed. Liaise with CCOs and stakeholders on the remediation of breaches.
  • Develop new metrics and limits to monitor Vulnerable exposure.
  • Support in the ATRR process to ensure the potential risk of new reserves are well understood and a or-active strategy is implemented when countries are deteriorating.
  • Define an adequate framework to report country risk exposure and monitor usage to ensure it remains within limits.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding of Citi.
  • Assesses the implications to other Risk disciplines when proposing new limits. Engages and partners with key contacts globally to ensure successful implementation. Identifies potential mitigants of risk in particular situations or transactions.
  • Create productivity and efficiencies in the management of Limits.
  • Have a solid partnership with 2 LoD who will review and challenge the existing limits.
  • Create methodologies, procedures and governance to manage the Limits.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in financial services and at least 10 in Risk Management
  • Ideally to have experience in limit management and calibration
  • Experience in people management
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and technology
  • Proven ability to work in a team of diverse skill sets and cultures and have the ability to negotiate and influence others.
  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
