Position Summary: The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and managing accounts in the assigned business area. This position analyzes the distributor value chain, grows and maintain in depth knowledge of key customer organizations, and develops relationships with new customers at the appropriate buying levels in the organization (Owner/President through purchasing and operations).

Position Summary: The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and managing accounts in the assigned business area. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Own relationships between customers and our company; act as a liaison in all areas whereby those relationships are mutually beneficial; effectively sell into all levels of an organization. Develop and keep updated Strategic Key Customer Account plans.
- Customer Retention and Relationship Management: Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer retention, focusing on long-term partnerships and customer satisfaction.
- Financial Acumen: Analyze account profitability and ensure alignment of pricing strategies with business objectives.
- Collaboration with Supply Chain and Operations: Work closely with supply chain and operations to align production and delivery schedules with customer forecasts and demand. Execute a sales strategy and annual operating plan for assigned products related to each existing account including, monthly forecasting and pricing changes at the customer level ensuring forecasted sales revenues and operating income objectives are achieved.
- Market Intelligence and Sales Pipeline: Research and update analysis of market demand/supply changes, fundamental shifts in pricing, competitive directional strategy changes, and its potential impact to AdvanSix within the business areas of responsibility. Actively maintain a list of customer needs within the region, in excess of forecast, to allow AdvanSix to optimize profitable product placement.
- Customer Insights and Voice of the Customer (VOC): Gather customer feedback and insights to influence product development and improve service offerings. Participate in cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product management, supply chain, customer service and research & development.
- Contract Management and Negotiation: Manage contract negotiations, renewals, and compliance to ensure alignment with customer needs and company profitability.
- Issue Resolution and Escalation Management: Act as a point of escalation to resolve customer issues promptly, coordinating with internal teams to ensure swift resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Key Performance Metrics and Reporting: Monitor and report key performance metrics, including account growth, customer satisfaction, and profitability, providing regular updates to leadership.
- CRM System Use and Data Utilization: Maintain up-to-date customer records in the CRM system, ensuring accurate forecasts and actionable insights. Leverage data set to synthesize recommendations for actions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, science or relevant equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in chemical and/ or materials sales
- Travel is required depending on location

- Proven experience in managing large complex accounts
- Proven track record of consistently meeting sales targets and objectives
- Must be a self-starter and independent performer
- Practical yet effectual ability to work well with numerous personality traits and styles
- Proven ability to successfully navigate all levels of customer organizations
- Ability to work independently using proven sales processes, successful negotiating, and persuasion skills
- Proven talent to close the sale
- Experience with understanding dynamics of export markets and customer requirements
- Ability to prioritize work and effectively coordinate multiple tasks within time constraint
- Strong, effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software required for the position
- Knowledge of nylon intermediate chemical products/markets preferred
