In this role, you will be a member of the Rivian's Future Programs group, as a part of embedded firmware and software development on next generation products. You will partner with existing embedded software development engineers, through all stages of program development, from concept to launch, ensuring the quality, reliability and safety of software systems.Responsibilities
Develop detailed test strategies and processes ensuring coverage for performance and safety traction-based systems, work closely with firmware/hardware/project management teams and making sure AQ requirements are aligned with overall product goals and deliverables.Design and implement test automation framework for continuous integration and testing pipelines.Oversee the design and execution of automated regression testing.Manage SIL and HIL test environments, driving playing critical role in SW/HW integration.Manage and oversee entire SW release process, identify fixes and resolutions before deployment.Root cause analysis and driving corrective actions.Initiative for improvement for QA metrics and processes.Reporting QA results, issues and risks.Work with cross functional group to determine hardware testing needs and support testing and validation effort.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other relevant fields.4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, embedded software/firmware development, preferably with vertically integrated consumer productsExperience with embedded systems and real time software testing, preferable in automotive/traction systems.Experience in C/C++, Python, and scripting in test automation.Experience in CI/CD automation workflows (Jenkins or similar).Familiarity with UDS or XCP protocols.Expertise in various protocols and their physical layers (I2C, SPI, CAN, CAN-FD, USB-PD etc)Familiarity with real-time operating system platforms, ideally in functional-safety critical applicationsFamiliarity with hardware/software architecture selection with cost and performance tradeoffs (OS, MCU, etc... selection).Passion for and demonstrated proficiency in working with cross-functional hardware & software teams.Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
Pay Disclosure
Salary range for California Based Applicants: $117,200-$146,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
