Overview

Supervisor Clinical NurseCapacity Coordination CenterFull-time (3x12, 8:30am-8:30pm/8:30pm-8:30am rotation) plus 4 hours AdminSupervises the patient flow and patient transfer functions of the Capacity Coordination Center. Serves as lead, clinical resource, role model and extension of management to uphold policies, procedures and practices. Acts as first point of contact for collaboration on real-time interdepartmental issues.Responsibilities

Assigns staff to daily tasks taking into consideration DHMC and system hospital capacity, call volumes, anticipated patient movement, and staff skill mixProvides real-time monitoring of volumes and workload and acts as front-line resource to staffAddresses potential barriers to effective capacity coordination and works to mitigate barriersFacilitates workflow processes and flow optimization, quality assurance and protocol complianceEnsures that telemedicine lines utilizing call center/triage service meet service line standards for turnaround time, accuracy, support, coordination of care, clinical documentation and communication, and customer service.Participates in the development and reporting of measures of success and evaluation of clinical/operational outcomesCommunicates problems that may compromise patient care to the appropriate departmental leadershipProvides management/leadership in crisis situations to prevent or minimize disruption of servicesParticipates in performance management of staff members to include coaching, preparation of performance evaluations and performance management process. Initiates disciplinary action as appropriate.Addresses conflicts as they arise. Involves unit leadership, medical leadership and/or House Supervisor as appropriate.Acts as liaison with outside hospitals regarding capacity coordination in the systemActs as delegate of nurse manager in assigned projects, committees and meetingsPerforms other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to work effectively in groups of employees and with patients and patient families is essential.Demonstrated abilities with problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork.Interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups at various organizational levels and with various disciplines.Excellent written, verbal and computer skills required.Must obtain and maintain clinical competencies within assigned unit.2 years of progressive responsibility within an acute care setting required.Bachelor's Degree (e.g. BSN, BA, BS) at time of hire, or degree expected within 36 months of hire.Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.Required Licensure/Certifications- Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility required. - Basic Life Support (BLS) or higher per unit specific requirements.Don't meet every single requirement?Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification.
