The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programming and working with embedded systems and software development, with core competencies in Python and C#. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions to program (over UART and the cloud) and test our innovative products.As a Senior Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for software development. The primary role for this position is designing and writing the software to program the embedded device and test it. It requires proficiency in networking principles, OS-level interactions, and efficient data transmission across various interfaces, ensuring seamless and secure integration with embedded systems. As part of this role, you will also coordinate technical discussions and problem solving for software projects and collaborate with the platform and system architects on the impacts of design decisions. You will coach other engineers on best practices and new technologies and review designs and architectures of the development team. You will be a key interface between the software team and other software teams and functions including participating in change control and risk analysis activities as part of the software quality process.Design and implement software to install embedded code into a device using UART, BLE, cloud-based networking protocols, and operating system calls.Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code in Python.Interpret, understand, and provide feedback on software requirements for a project. Perform requirement analysis to determine completeness and compliance with software system. Ability to work with requirement management tools.Pursues industry best practices and technology trends. Collaborates with industry thought leaders. Recognized as the organization’s leader in applying new technology. PR) locations (USD):$120,000.00 - $180,000.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
