This position serves as a domain architect for Treasury Solutions, guiding the development and implementation of robust solution architectures while ensuring effective collaboration with stakeholders across business and technology domains, including Treasury Operations, Risk, and IT. The role also acts as a consultant and leader within delivery teams, providing architectural expertise and strategic guidance. The role focuses on working with delivery teams to design and build secure, adaptable, and scalable solutions that ensure high reliability and cost-effectiveness. The Senior Solution Architect ensures a holistic architecture design by appropriately integrating other key architectural disciplines, including governance (ensuring compliance with policies and standards), cyber security (protecting assets and data integrity), data (defining data models and ensuring data quality), and infrastructure (aligning hardware and software resources).
This position is responsible for the creation and syndication of architectural artifacts, which depicts the current environment, the proposed environment, and a transition plan to reach the target state. The Senior Solution Architect ensures adherence to Truist best practices, standards, and governance tollgates. The role also involves sophisticated analytical thought and domain knowledge to drive innovative solutions and mentoring less experienced teammates to build technical expertise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Top down enterprise design with focus on business model, digital transformation and innovation i.e. collaborate with business owners, technology leaders and risk partners to draft the tech strategy, reflecting the corporate objectives/strategy
2. IT Landscape design in the context of business capabilities of the organization supporting enterprise objective, cost and risk reduction
3. Lead cross cutting enterprise solution design that span across multiple CIOs and domains
4. Set strategic direction for the assigned major business division in alignment with the Business Strategy and Technology standards and provide thought leadership in the development of an enterprise strategic IT plan.
5. Maintain a high level of awareness and understanding of existing and emerging technologies, as well as industry and bank issues, to effectively match them.
6. End to end accountability to review and approve design solutions that best meet the business needs of the enterprise, with a primary focus on innovation.
7. Lead or "jump start" initiatives deemed critical to IT Services and Truist's success
8. Provide thought leadership in new technology innovation, incubation, introduction and implementation critical to Truist's technology and business strategy roadmaps and ongoing success

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business or IT, or equivalent education and related training
2. Fifteen years of architecture/design/delivery experience which includes ten years of enterprise architecture experience or fifteen years' solution architecture experience in technology and security, and ten years of banking/financial business domain
3. Comprehensive experience with various architectural domains such as application, data, infrastructure, security and integration
4. Strong analytical and broad architectural skills
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills
6. Strong negotiation/facilitation skills
7. Significant knowledge of current and emerging architecture principles, methodologies and tools
8. Experience as negotiator with vendors for relevant products and services
9. Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking with ability to differentiate feasible from academic solutions
10. Demonstrated thought-leadership skills with the ability to translate high-level business planning information into application needs/solutions
11. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
12. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

Core Responsibilities

Solution Design and Implementation
- Design scalable payment processing architectures supporting high-volume transaction processing, including ACH, Wire, and Real-Time Payments
- Design comprehensive technical solutions that align with the organization's goals and existing enterprise environment
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations including SWIFT, ISO 20022, and Federal Reserve requirements
- Perform approved proof-of-concepts to "test" technology and business solution capabilities, and provide recommendations to stakeholders regarding future use within Truist.
Technical Leadership
- Guide development teams in implementing payment processing systems, focusing on transaction integrity and financial reconciliation
- Design integration patterns for core banking systems, payment networks, and third-party financial services providers
- Lead the identification, planning, creation, and oversight of sound solution architecture frameworks, guidelines, patterns, and standards for use across the treasury domain
- Identify and drive application rationalization, solution consolidation, and optimization opportunities, including the integration of enterprise-wide technologies and new business capabilities
- Shepherd projects through the Technology Delivery Life Cycle (TDLC), overseeing each phase of the process including initiation, planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-implementation review
Risk and Compliance
- Ensure solutions meet banking industry regulations including BSA/AML, OFAC, and PSD2
- Collaborate with delivery partners representing Cyber Security, Risk, Infrastructure, Enterprise Data Office, and Enterprise Architecture to ensure solutions are aligned with enterprise requirements and standards
- Design solutions adhering to banking industry standards for data protection and privacy
- Create and implement appropriate review processes to identify potential issues early in the development/procurement cycle.
Stakeholder Management
- Establish and understand divisional business strategy and technical requirements
- Collaborate with various stakeholders including line of business stakeholders, Application Technology Managers, developers, and project managers
- Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences
