Northcrest Rehab Nursing Center located in Napoleon, Ohio, is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to join our team. The Certified Medication Aide will be responsible for dispensing medications to residents in our Retirement and Rehabilitation Center. We are looking for an energetic Certified Medication Aide who can follow directions and who is a team player. The Certified Medication Aide is someone who will interact with our residents and provide top notch care that our residents deserve.JOB DESCRIPTION+ Accurately and safely prepare and document the oral and/or topical medications that are commonly used in this facility and that may be ordered for resident use by the attending physician.+ Ensure that all medications administered are properly labeled.+ Accurately measure, record, and report the vital signs of residents.+ Observe and verify that medication is ingested or applied as directed. Document any instance where prescribed medication is not taken, including reason(s) for refusal.+ Follow the facility procedure for recording the order in the resident's clinical record, including the type, route, dosage, frequency and strength of each medication.+ Be familiar with the meaning and usage of common medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms relative to the administration of medications as used by the facility, pharmacists, and physicians.+ Gather and record information regarding incidents in the Assisted Living facility.+ CPR, as needed.+ Other duties as assigned.SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS+ At least one (1) year of certified medication aide experience in long-term care or an assisted living.+ Must be a licensed Certified Medication Aide having successfully completed a state approved training program and any necessary examination(s) in accordance with laws of this State.+ Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.+ Must be able to effectively communicate with residents, family members, managers, fellow employees, visitors, healthcare agencies and the general public.+ Must be able to navigate a computer program easily.+ Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the residents served.+ Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.+ Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.+ Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.+ Must meet all State health requirements.+ Must have a current CPR certification or be willing to get certification within 2 weeks of employment.Job Type: Full-time
